FICTION. DOCUMENTARY. SOMETIMES BOTH.
Constantin Pilavios is a French-Greek filmmaker based in London. He directs fiction and documentary, and doesn't always keep them separate.
His fiction work is where he feels most at home. His first mini-series, I Am Jo, streams on Netflix Greece and held a Top 10 position for two months. He approaches his subjects quietly; observing rather than intervening. This is also why documentary suits him. His short film Cowboys of Aspropyrgos follows the memory of a pastoral past still lingering in one of Athens' most industrialised neighbourhoods. His personal essay trilogy, The Girl Who Walks Beside Me, The Boy Who Lives Under The Sea, and The Ones Who Breathe Under The Stars, was made entirely on his own terms.
He is currently in development on his first feature film and a docufiction commission.
He is an Associate Member of Directors UK.
